Get to Know EDO

Welcome!

I’m Elizabeth, chef and owner of EDO kitchen! I was born and raised in Griffin, Georgia and love being settled here with my little family! It’s a full time life over here and when I’m not in the kitchen cooking up something for you guys, you can usually find me chasing after my very spunky and wild little one or cry-laughing at my hilarious husband.

Since I can remember I have loved food and cooking! I come from a line of incredible self-taught chefs and bakers who center every fun event, monumental life moment, and conversation around a good meal at the table.

I grew up eating dinner at the table each night, a lost art if you ask me. It was such a safe place and beautiful time gathering together and because of that, sharing an amazing meal with others became a source of sentimental goodness I crave.

But, I’m also a working mom who understands just how hard that really is to accomplish. A large part of why EDO Kitchen came to fruition was to help facilitate an easier way for you to bring home a nourishing meal for you and your family. To create the space and save you time so you can share a meal with the people that you love.

In 2015, I quickly jumped from being a pastry chef to making meals for the community. I was introduced to Whole30 and that reset completely changed my relationship with food. I had not realized how much gluten and refined sugar specifically, affected how I function mentally and physically each day. (More on that in another blog!) I started creating meals that tasted good AND made my body feel good. I am quite competitive (ask my friends who won’t play board games with me anymore, lol) and it really became a fun challenge to explore old family recipes and create new ones that were more nourishing.

Those reevaluations lead to EDO Kitchen in 2016. What started as meal prep for myself and some close friends evolved quickly into a licensed kitchen and a full-blown business. Thank goodness for insanely talented friends and all their help! While most of what I cook for EDO eliminates gluten and sugar, I really try to focus on what I am bringing to the table rather than taking away from it. I focus on fresh, flavorful, real ingredients that can make an insanely delicious, crave-worthy meal!

While cooking, art, creating and tasting new foods and good wine make my heart skip a beat, my real passion lies with people. If you know me, you know I love my people and getting to know all of you each week! This life wouldn’t be half as fulfilling without the relationships we create along the way and I’m so grateful I get to show up each week in the same way you show up for me!
